Dr. Sharma is Board Certified in Cardiovascular Surgery. He is additionally certified in phlebology. He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Maryland, College Park, MD and attended the University of Maryland Graduate School, Baltimore, MD, before receiving his medical degree.  Dr. Sharma received his medical degree from Eastern Virginia School of Medicine, Norfolk, VA.  He completed his internship and residency in general surgery at Eastern Virginia Graduate School of Medicine, Department of Surgery, Norfolk, and completed his residency in thoracic surgery at George Washington University, Washington, DC.  Dr. Sharma began his cardiac surgery career in Florida in 1999 and started specializing in vascular in 2007. He regularly attends conferences on veins and vein treatments and stays current on the latest and best treatments to achieve a successful patient outcome.

 His philosophy is that to be the best at what you do, you have to be devoted to it day-in and day-out.  He is one of the rare physicians who performs vein treatments full time.
Dr. Sharma is dedicated to corrective vein treatments and enjoys helping his patients achieve a healthy lifestyle.  As a respected leader in his field and with years of experience, he has perfected his technique to achieve the very best outcome.

He also believes in supporting the communities he serves.  Some of the organizations he supports:  Citrus County Food Bank, Homosassa Friends of Wildlife, Hernando, YMCA of The Suncoast,  Alzheimer's Family Organization, Straz Center Performing Arts Education, Toys for Tots, Habitat for Humanity, ASPCA, Retired Nurses Association Scholarships and is a supporting partner in Rotary Club of The Villages.

He speaks both English and Hindi.

Dr. Sharma is married with two sons and we should also mention, four dogs.
